This paper provides a biographical sketch of this great queen beginning with her birth in 1533 and ending with her death in 1603. During most of her reign, Elizabeth contended with intermittent conspiracies to oust her from the throne. Still, she prevailed and brought numerous advances to England, while maintaining a more peaceful world presence than predecessors. So bound by authoritarian rule was Richard that his unyielding reign soon set off a revolution that served to be the beginning of the end for this particular monarch's authority.
