This 60 page report discusses the existence of child abuse in the 21st century and suggests a research study related to home visitation intervention for the prevention of such abuse. A statement of the problem, its history, a literature review, the study, outcomes, and recommendations are included. It is a concern for all of society since: “Without early prevention, abused and neglected children do more poorly in school, are more likely to become teen parents, and abuse alcohol and drugs. They are also more likely to become criminals as adults and to suffer from chronic health problems.” Bibliography lists 32 sources.
